The Science behind Glutathione
Glutathione It is comprised of three amino acids (building blocks of protein): glutamine, glycine, and cysteine. As an antioxidant it’s essential in preventing damage to important cellular components such as free radicals, peroxides, lipid peroxides, and heavy metals.
By way of its sulfur groups it attracts free radicals, heavy metals and toxins enhancing their elimination.
Glutathione is also a cofactor in many bodily processes and is the foundation for the main detoxification pathway in the liver, kidneys, lungs, intestinal lining and other organs. In addition it’s especially effective in protecting cells affecting skin and eyes.
Scientific research has shown that the levels of glutathione directly correspond to the health and function of cells.
Side Effects (Skin Lightening)
Glutathione effects the body’s ability to create melanin. For this reason, people in the U.S. and throughout Asia have used Glutathione injections to lighten skin. In fact, many people are more interested in the skin lightening effects than the super antioxidant benefits!
